Being on a diet doesn’t mean you can’t indulge from time to time. But even then, it’s better if you choose a healthier option. And no, I’m not saying to choose an apple over a chocolate bar, because that would be heartless. But try to make smarter choices. Check the ingredients and if you see a lot of words you don’t understand, then it means you should probably look for something else. Or you could make it at home; this way you know exactly what goes into your body.

Peanut butter cups are something I can’t resist, but I prefer to make my own, instead of buying them. I chose to make them the easy way by melting some organic dark chocolate. But, if you want to be a superhero you can go ahead and make your own chocolate. Just mix equal parts of melted coconut oil and raw cocoa powder in a pot. Add your choice of sweetener (stevia, honey, melted coconut sugar etc.) and some vanilla extract.

Next, line a baking tray with silicone muffin cups and add the melted chocolate (or your homemade chocolate mixture). You should fill 1/3 of your muffin liners. Let them sit in the fridge for about 15 minutes, or until the chocolate has completely hardened. Take them out and add the peanut butter in the same proportion. Don’t spread the peanut butter because it shouldn’t reach the sides. Refrigerate it for another 15 min. Take the muffin cups out and add the rest of your chocolate and repeat the cooling process.
